The ‘ struggle on the Los Angeles field was a real source of stress and frustration, but Clayton Carshaw won an All-Star nod at this year’s event was one of the few bright spots the team has enjoyed in the past seven to ten days.
The longtime ace of staff will make his 11th All-Star Game appearance. So far, after fighting from a few injuries in 2025, the 37-year-old has now 4-1 with a 3.38 ERA in 10 starts this year. Commissioner Rob Manfred has specifically chosen Kershaw as his “legendary pick.”

One player who is extremely excited to cut it up at Clayton Kershaw is Paul Skens. Many believe that Pittsburgh’s Pirates Ace is the most talented pitcher in baseball. Skens, originally from Southern California, won the front row seating for the weekly brilliance that Kershaw brought to the mound. He repeated this in a recent interview with MLB Radio.
“He’s one of the people I grew up watching and I hope that by the end of the All-Star Game, Car Show won’t get bored of me,” Skenneth said. “I’m going to go over there and choose his brain as much as I can for everything he’s accomplished in this game. It’s going to be a pinch-mouth moment. It’s a cool opportunity to share the clubhouse with him for a day.”
The 23-year-old Skenes holds a 4-8 record despite the sport of the 2.01 ERA. In two years, the Skenes have combined 1.98 ERAs in the big leagues. Without a way to run support, his overall record certainly doesn’t reflect how good he really is.
Skenes, a seven-pitch starter, has qualified for arbitration for more than four more years before becoming a full free agent in 2030. Many fans of various candidates have already whipped proverbs to make it available to pirates through trade.
That possibility has probably happened for years, but traditional wisdom states that Suken wants to play elsewhere, unless the pirates magically become competitors.
At the very least, his relationship with the Carshow can’t be the worst thing in the world for the . The development of the Car Show in LA, coupled with the treatments he and his family received from the franchise, is one of the biggest and most respected recruiting pitches they can offer.
