Double MotoGP world champion Pecco Bagnaia says Ducati CEO Claudio Domenicali is “by my side” as he continues to struggle at the halfway point of his 2025 campaign.
Pecco Bagnaia’s 2025, who came from his second year as a world champion and slightly missed his third title last season, hasn’t followed that pattern.
From off this season, he struggled to replicate his form, which earned 11 Grand Press victory in 2024. So far, Bagnaia scored only one win that came in Kota after teammate Mark Marquez crashed from the lead.
In the middle stages of the 2025 campaign, Bagnaia’s title hopes have almost completely destroyed Marquez’s drift at 147 points.
Bagnaia failed to score points in a wet sprint at Sachsenring last weekend, and had to finish third in the Grand Prix, which was 10th on the grid with crashes scattered around.
When asked on Saturday in Germany about his relationship with CEO Ducati Domenical (he attended Saxenling) like this year, Bagnaia says he only felt support.
“He’s very (many) on my side,” he said.
“He always… we talk a lot after all races, and he wants to know everything.
“He’s an engineer so I want to talk with Christian Gabbalini, Tommy (Pagano) and the whole of my team.
“And he’s very close to me.
“After today (sprint) race, he came to me just trying to give me some (advice)… but I hope, like him, to fight for the top position again, as I always did from when I was a factory rider.”
Bagnaia’s teammate Marc Marquez has been a very dominant form so far in 2025, earning 7 out of 11 weekends of 37 points.
He gave him an 83-point lead in the championship heading to the Czech Grand Prix at BRNO this weekend.
Bagnaia is currently 64 points behind second-placed Alex Marquez, who is currently riding the Gresini-run 2024-Spec Ducati this year.
