Amid rumors of a switch to the 2026 VR46 Ducati, Pedro Acosta says before the MotoGP Americas Grand Prix, “come to KTM with a clear dream and the dreams are still there.”
The future of Pedro Acosta’s MotoGP has been the subject of intense speculation since last winter, when KTM self-administered its own way through a major financial crisis.
Following Valentino Rossi’s participation in the 100km championship event in January, rumors have begun to swirl about the possibility of a move to Acosta’s MotoGP legendary Ducati satellite team next year, despite his current multi-year contract with KTM.
These have only been strengthened after the unshiny start of KTM’s 2025 campaign, with Acosta on Argentine roads crashing from the point of Thailand’s season opener.
Acosta spoke about the uncertainty about his future on Thursday ahead of the American Grand Prix at the MotoGP gear-up show, saying, “Well, in the end we need to know where we are.
“I came to KTM with a clear dream, and the dream is still there.
“Finally, you need to keep pushing, I know it’s not an easy target, but it’s part of the game.
“To do this, we have to settle down. Don’t listen to people outside of our team. That’s all.”
Pedro Acosta hopes the uncertain Kota weather can play in his hands
Last year’s American Grand Prix proved to be a strong weekend for Acosta during his rookie season.
This year’s COTA event will be subject to uncertain weather conditions. Acosta is looking at KTM as an opportunity to take part in the lead battle.
“Maybe Austin was one of the best weekends last year,” he added.
“I hope for this, it’s not the beginning of the season we had dreamed of, but a long championship at the end.
“We have to settle down. Finally, KTM is usually pretty ok in those conditions.
“If people are running out of time and doing the right setup and looking at other manufacturers at that high level, we might be able to play.
“Let’s see what’s going on. We need to stay calm and not cause any major confusion.”
