Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford has spoken of his desire to leave the club after spending so much of his career at Old Trafford.
The Red Devils’ misfit is currently on loan at Barcelona, but it seems unlikely that he will return to Manchester any time soon.
Rashford also spent part of last season on loan at Aston Villa and says he simply needed a change after spending 23 years of his life at United.
Rashford’s rapid decline in form in a Man United shirt sometimes seemed a bit puzzling, but now that it has been publicly acknowledged, it perhaps makes more sense.

In an interview with ESPN, Rashford made it clear that he simply needed a different experience after spending so much time at United.
“I’ve been in the same place for years,” he said. “People forget this, but 24 years of my life, 23 years of my life, I spent at Manchester United. So sometimes you need a change. I think this is probably the case for me. Yeah, I’m enjoying everything.”
Rashford certainly looks back on his best at Barça, and it would be hard to begrudge him a move after giving so much to United over the years.
Of course, many MUFC supporters will be unhappy with this development, but it’s human nature to want to try something new at some point.
Rashford previously helped United deliver silverware and is now playing overseas, representing one of Europe’s biggest clubs.
It will be interesting to see if this loan move becomes a permanent move or if Rashford ends up making another move at the end of this season.
