With the transfer window open, Vitor Pereira reportedly asked the Wolverhampton Wanderers Chiefs to sign a Brazilian defender who has a release clause worth £22 million.
Matt Hobbs leaves the club
The wolves want to move their summer business forward as soon as possible, but the departure of Matt Hobbs may delay things, especially after losing Matheus Cunha and seeing Rayan Ait-Nouri gain attention from Manchester City. Without the athletic director, the Midlands Club will be rebuilt behind the scenes before Pereira’s first summer responsibilities.
The club has issued a statement regarding Hobbs’ exit. “The Wolves can confirm that sports director Matt Hobbs has left the club with mutual consent as part of a broader restructuring of the football division.

Old gold is about to add talent to attack this summer.
“Hobbs, who joined Wolves in 2015, has played many important football roles at the club over the past decade, including Chief Scout, the director of recruitment and most recently as a sports director.
“The club would like to sincerely thank Matt for his contributions throughout his time with the Wolf and hope he is best in the future. Further updates on the new football leadership structure will continue.”
Of course, it’s not the only change that’s happening in the Midlands. Already losing Cunha to Manchester United, reports now show that the wolves are likely to lose Ait-Nouri to Manchester city in the coming weeks.
Undoubtedly, the wolves, who lost their two best players in the same summer, now have to get things right in front of reception. Pereira will be desperate to see his first season being built based on the advances he has already made with Molineux. That means a mid-table finish instead of another nervous demolition fight.
The positive thing is that wolves should have the money they spend and the money that Pereira can tell they already want to take effect.
Pereira asks the wolf to sign Rennan
According to UOL, as broadcast by Molineux News, Pereira now directly asked the wolves to sign Robert Rennan, who worked with them during the Saudi Arabia and Corinthian era. The 21-year-old defender is reportedly currently having a release clause worth £22 million at Zenit St. Petersburg, and could be heading into the Premier League after lending a season with Al-Shabab.

Lennan, who is only 21 years old, finds himself at the heart of impressive admiration for how he is rising in recent seasons. This includes from U23 Scout Antonio Mango, who praised the defender for “big mobility and acceleration” in 2023.
Two years after that praise, the young centre-back only raised his game, and he was able to line him up for his biggest opportunity. Pereira knows him well, and the wolves have money to spend. That means Rennan’s arrival could make perfect sense for all involved this summer.
It will certainly be interesting to see if Pereira will get his wish with the wolves in the coming months, as he reportedly requested the arrival of the Brazilians.
