Manchester United is reportedly set to assess the future of Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw as transfer priorities have emerged.
The Red Devils have brought in new front threes from Brian M Beumo, Mateuscuña and Benjamin Sesco, with a focus on changing the offense this summer.
Meanwhile, celebrities such as Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, Rasmus Hozilund, Alejandro Garnacho and Antony all left Old Trafford.
The focus is now shifting to midfield and defense, according to a TeamTalk report stating that Maguire and Shaw will be evaluated in the coming months.
The defensive duo has 539 Man UTDs appearing between them, but it may be time for the club to move on from them and continue rebuilding behind them.
Manchester United Eye’s defense signature near future
A report from TeamTalk says United will be keeping their midfield and priorities in the transfer market in the near future.
Maguire and the show may still play a key role, but at the same time, they may be under some pressure to prove themselves.
Neither of them were particularly unreliable for a variety of reasons, and it would probably make sense that Reuben Amorim would continue to change things in every area of his team.
United have talented young defenders like Rennie Yoro and Aiden Heaven. Perhaps it would be wise to bring in more signatures of top talent to build around them and develop with them.
Still, Amorim may value the experience that Maguire and the Show bring. Along with these longtime players, they can bring enough wisdom and support to young players in the dressing room club.
Maguire recently spoke publicly this summer about United’s refusal to approach him.
