The developed version of the SCX rear tire, which Pirelli debuted in the WorldSBK Dutch Latch Round, will be used again this weekend in the Italian round at the Cremona Circuit.
The new option specified for E0126 uses a different structure for the same compound as the standard SCX. It aims to increase stability and longer life than the standard version, and Pirelli says the tires “received widespread praise” after their world superbike debut at Assen two weeks ago. In fact, the long race at Assen was won using the E0126 rear tire.
SCQ, Standard SCX and Standard SC0 will also be available at the rear this weekend, but the SC1 and SC2 will be two options: front tires.
“The new E0126 specification developed by (Netherlands) super soft compound was the most commonly used solution in dry racing,” Pirelli’s motorcycle racing director Giorgio Barbier recalls the Dutch round.
“For this reason, it will also be offered to Cremona along with the standard SCX.
“The innovative casing is the same as the E0125 specification using the soft compound successfully introduced at Portimao, but has received extensive acclaim thanks to the greater stability given by its larger footprint and consistent performance over distance.
“Given the unusually high track temperatures recorded in the assen in Race 1 and Race 2, it has proven to be particularly effective for riders who were able to confirm the bike setup in the best possible way.”
Pirelli hopes the E0126 will get lots of use on Cremona as the SCX was the preferred tire in the 2024 edition of the Italian round.
“In 2024, SuperSoft Solutions was Cremona’s favorite. If weather conditions are permitted, it would be interesting to collect more data and make new comparisons,” Barbier said.
Pirelli will also bring E0158 front rain tires to Cremona. It is also found in Portimao and Assen, and was first used on the weekend of the race at the Super Pole Race at Assen, where Toprak Razgatlioglu won in development options.
“In addition, the E0158 specification development front rain tires are included in the allocation, and they debuted with excellent results in the Dutch round Super Pole race,” Barbier said.
“The tire has earned the trust of most riders and has received very positive comments thanks to an increased grip and footprint that has improved stability.”
Current forecasts predict dry weather throughout the weekend, but it is raining on Monday.
