The Los Angeles opened the World Series with an 11-4 loss to the Toronto Blue Jays on Friday night.
The Blue Jays took control and tied the game in the bottom of the historic sixth inning.

Things got off to a bit of a tense start for the , who have dropped just one game so far this postseason before the World Series. The Blue Jays got off to a good start with a two-out rally against southpaw Blake Snell, who has a 0.86 ERA in three postseason games so far.
A walk, a single, and another walk loaded Toronto’s bases, but Snell produced a flyout on the 29th pitch of the inning.
At the top of the next frame, the begin chipping away at the Blue Jays off a walk by Will Smith. Teoscar Hernandez replaced Smith, and Quique Hernandez singled Max Muncy with one out and second base.
The utility star was outstanding, as he has been throughout his career, with an RBI to put his team up 1-0 in October Moment.
Snell struck out two batters in the bottom of the second inning, resulting in another scoreless game. In the top of the third inning, Smith scored two runs on a lead-off walk by Mookie Betts and a walk by Freddie Freeman. The All-Star catcher scored a run to make the score 2-0, but the scoring stopped there for the inning.
The two powerhouses traded one more inning with zero runs, but in the bottom of the fourth, Dalton Varsho hit a two-run home run following a well-hit single by Alejandro Kirk to tie the score.
Betts was isolated in the top of the fifth inning and remained hitless until the bottom of the sixth inning. Toronto was eventually ejected from the game after being hit by Snell on the leadoff walk and the following single to load the bases.
Emmett Sheehan hit an RBI single and walked the next batter to make it 4-2. He allowed another single, and the score was 5-2 with no outs and the bases loaded. George Springer grounded out for the first out of the inning, but Anthony Banda ended up taking his place and ending Sheehan’s night.
Banda allowed a grand slam to Addison Berger four pitches later. It was the first pinch-hitter grand slam in World Series history.
To make matters worse, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. hit a single and Kirk hit a two-run home run later in the same inning, making it the highest-scoring inning in a World Series game in 57 years.

The score was 11-2, and after Tommy Edman walked on base in the seventh inning, Shohei Ohtani hit his first career World Series home run, improving their embarrassing record to 11-4.
The next few innings went by quickly, and the faced their first series loss of the postseason.
When is Game 2 of the World Series?
Game 2 of the World Series will be played Saturday at 5 p.m. PT at Rogers Center, and the will look to even the game.
