Chelsea striker Nicholas Jackson is reportedly being monitored by Everton as a transfer target after a permanent move to Bayern Munich becomes unlikely.
The Senegal international left Chelsea to join Bayern on loan in the summer, but his start to life at the Allianz Arena was not the best.
With just two goals in his first 10 games for Bayern and Harry Kane as Vincent Kompany’s first-choice striker, it seems highly unlikely that Jackson will have a future at the club.
According to Football Insider, this led Everton to take notice of Jackson, with the 24-year-old believed to be seen as the type of centre-forward who would fit well with David Moyes’ tactics.
Nicholas Jackson’s transfer saga takes a new turn
Jackson did not perform well enough to maintain his place at Chelsea, so few fans would have been surprised when he was set to leave this summer.
Bayern appear to be ready to give the player another chance at a big club, with TBR Football recently reporting that the loan was almost certain to become a permanent move, but it appears they changed their mind on that fairly quickly.
Germany’s Bild newspaper also reported that an agreement has already been reached for Jackson to permanently transfer to Bayern and sign a five-year contract with the club.
It’s no wonder other clubs are keeping an eye on Jackson’s situation, and Everton could be the right level for him.

Nicholas Jackson is not the only striker on Everton’s list
However, the paper also mentions other strikers Everton are considering, including former Brentford forward Ivan Toney.
Another player to watch is Tottenham’s Richarlison, with the Toffees keen to bring the Brazilian forward back to the club, according to Football Insider.
It will be interesting to see who is ultimately nominated, but Jackson seems like an option worth considering as he will likely be available next summer.
