Manchester United are reportedly likely to show interest in Joshua Zirkzee in the upcoming January transfer window.
The Red Devils’ current stance is that they don’t want to let Zirkzee go, but it doesn’t seem like this will deter West Ham United from trying their luck.
According to iNews, the Hammers are likely to press ahead with signing Zirksee on loan for the second half of the season.
The report adds that Roma and other clubs in Serie A are also interested in Zirksee.
As previously reported in an exclusive article in the Daily Briefing, Zirksee is also attracting interest from Aston Villa, Brighton, AC Milan, Juventus and Como.
Will Joshua Zirkzee leave Manchester United?
Even if United ideally wanted the depth in their squad that a player like Zirksee would bring, convincing him to continue in such a role in a World Cup year could be difficult.
The Dutch international may have a chance to represent his country at next summer’s tournament in America, but that won’t be the case if he just warms up on the bench at Old Trafford.
West Ham could be a good option to give Zirksee more minutes, but it will be interesting to see if they are successful in sealing a deal.
Joshua Zirkzee may need to push for a move
Maybe Zirkzee will just be told he has to stay where he is unless he makes a significant effort to move on.
The 24-year-old may need to risk upsetting some people at United to get what he wants. Otherwise, he will have to give his all when he is on the pitch and show Ruben Amorim that he should start more games.
However, it’s no secret that Zirkzee has struggled since joining the Red Devils, and leaving seems like the best option for his career at this stage.
