Los Angeles right-handed pitcher Tony Gonzolin is on the injured list with discomfort in his right elbow.

This move is a surprise given that Gonsorin returned to spinning a few weeks ago.
Another starter was injured in 2025 when Gonsorin joined Blake Snell, Tyler Glasnow and Loki Sasaki in Illinois. News of the right-handed injury are crushed, especially as Gonsorin missed nearly 20 months after Tommy John’s surgery in 2023.
The 31-year-old joined spring training as one of three starting pitchers competing for the fifth spot in the rotation. Gonsorin liked to be the ‘ No. 5 starter, but he suffered a back injury after missing the first month of the 2025 season.
Now, just a few weeks later, the right-hander has returned to IL with an injury.
The amount of pitching injuries the have dealt with in recent years is simply astounding. When Gonsorin lands in Illinois, the spin remains with Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Dustin May and Clayton Carshaw as the team’s main starters.
