Leeds signed 10 times during the summer transfer as efforts were made to ensure Daniel Fark’s team survived in the Premier League. However, one player who didn’t finish on Elland Road was Josh Brownhill.
Brownhill, who left Burnley when his contract expired in July, was a standout performer in last season’s championship, leading to many clubs signing him. Leeds was one of them, but the deal never came to fruition.
Former Leeds target Josh Brown Hill set for Saud Arabia’s move
According to Leeds, Brownhill was also interested in the move, but according to Ariyadhiya, he is now planning to join Al Shabaab. The Saudi Arabian Professional League has agreed to terms with the midfielder, and this transaction is necessary before the final decision is made by the Financial Sustainability Committee, which belongs to the Saudi Professional League.
Brown Hill, 29, is in an age where he is set to the last big payday, something that would be obtained if the move to Al-Shabaab passes. He has signed a two-year contract and his salary in Saudi Arabia could be greater than the English club offered him.
It is probably a shame for Leeds that Brown Hill wasn’t added to Fark’s team over the summer, but there are already some quality, especially with the arrival of Anton Schtuck and Sean Longstaff from TSG Hoffenheim and Newcastle respectively.
Given that Leeds is also interested in moving to Elland Road, it will tell you whether Leeds should make more specific efforts to sign Brown Hill. But for now, club officials are happy with the business that took place during the summer transfer.
