Aston Villa reportedly received a massive boost as Paris Saint-Germain playmaker Marco Asensio agreed to return to the club on a three-year deal.
According to the latest report, Asensio has agreed to a three-year deal with Villa, and Spain International has returned to Villa Park after last season’s Loan Spell.
Asensio joined Unai Emery’s side in the second half of the 2024/25 campaign, and worked well for six months there.
Now it appears that the villa can re-sign Asensio, even though it took a little time for this deal to reach a conclusion.
Asensio also linked to things like Inter Milan and Fenerbafe this summer, but now it appears he has been chosen as a villa.
Looks like an exciting signature from the villa from Marco Asensio to Aston Villa
Emery is pleased to have the much needed boost from the team this new season and bring Asensio quality players back to the club forever.
The villa has been enduring a lot of frustration in the market recently and has had to continue selling before they can use it.
Big names like Douglas Lewis and John Duran recently left AVFC, but Jacob Ramsey also set out to join Newcastle United.
While Asensio should be the ideal alternative to Ramsey, fans are definitely frustrated and hope that more signatures will be possible before the September 1st deadline.
Villa missed a top four spot last season and launched a new campaign in a draw with Newcastle, so there’s a lot to do to help Emery compete at the top of the table.
