West Ham United want to sign Manchester United striker Joshua Zirkzee.
The Netherlands International have not been able to live up to expectations since moving to Old Trafford. He has been linked with a move from the English club, and it remains to be seen whether West Ham will be able to seal a deal.
West Ham sign Joshua Zirkzee
Transfer official Indi Kaira said there had been “contact” between the two clubs and West Ham were hopeful of a deal. They are in dire need of a striker and the 24-year-old could be a useful acquisition.
He will be desperate to prove himself in the Premier League. A move to Manchester United did not work out for him. He has made 53 appearances for Manchester United, scoring seven goals. However, he has shown his quality in the past at Bologna and if he can regain his form and confidence, there is no doubt that he could be a very useful option for West Ham.
Zirksee needs to go
After signing Benjamin Sesco, Zirkzee is unlikely to get regular minutes at Manchester United. He needs to leave the club so he can play more often. A move to West Ham could be ideal. If they can offer him regular game time, he might be able to regain his form and confidence.
Furthermore, with the World Cup coming up in the summer of 2026, he will likely aim to solidify his place in the Dutch national team. He needs to play for that to happen.
Leaving Manchester United in January would be ideal for all parties. Manchester United should aim to upgrade and letting the Dutch international leave the club would be ideal for them.
