McLaren handed over F1 Movie Star Brad Pitt.
In the F1 movie, Pitt stars as Sony Hayes, a former F1 driver who makes a comeback to his fictional APXGP team and partner rookie teammate Joshua Pierce (played by Damson Idris).
Filming took place during the actual Grand Prix Weekend, featuring cameos with F1 drivers and teams, and Pitt had the wheels of the F2 car that were modified for the film.
However, the 61-year-old Hollywood superstar got the opportunity to sample real-life F1 machines when he joined Randnoris for a private test at the US Grand Prix venue in Austin on Thursday.
Pitt is understood to have sampled the team’s 2023 car, the McLaren MCL60.
McLaren confirmed with crash.net that the tests were actually done, but no details were provided.
The UK team teased the test on social media and posted an image of the overalls featuring the initials “BP” with the caption “It’s Austin’s Sons Day.”
The test comes just days after Pitt appeared in the star-studded premiere of a New York City Formula One movie on Monday.
“Can they even get us in? That’s insane,” Pitt told Sky Sports News at the premiere.
“Let’s put us in the world. Let’s race on the weekends. Let’s embed ourselves in the season. I’ve never heard of anything like that. Especially in this sport, it’s so respected. It’s really special.
“We just drew from history, a little bit, a little bit, and Lewis Hamilton let us run straight.
“I love this movie. It wins on so many levels and I love sports movies. When they work, I love racing movies and I think we’re there.”
