The Los Angeles push back Shohei Ohtani’s regular scheduled weekly live batting practice.
The move is primarily logistic and weather reasons, as both Saturday and Sunday contests are against the St. Louis Cardinals. Furthermore, the forecast is less favorable for MVPs looking to return to the mound after the final losses on Friday were delayed by rain.

“We’re thinking about Monday in San Diego. “I think there’s more certainty in San Diego on Monday.”
As the skipper pointed out, after the finish in St. Louis, they head to San Diego for a three-game set with the Padres. When the team returns to California, the weather should further encourage two-way stars.
Otani’s final live batting practice session consisted of 29 pitches, complete with fastballs, sweepers, curveballs and splitters. He also opposed to recently called catcher Dalton Rush and two minor league batters.
Rushing, who also joined Otani’s first live batting practice session last week, also spoke about what it’s like to try and hit the pitch from three MVPs.
“His belongs to electricity,” Rushing said. “The splitter is pretty legal, but it’s really more than that. He has multiple pitches that are outliers compared to other pitchers, so obviously that’s what makes him a player.”
Roberts also mentioned that despite the excitement that Otani is approaching his ‘ pitching debut, there is still much more work to do.
“(Advanced), you still have to get to five or six innings,” Roberts said. “So we still have a way to go.”
For now, the team will eventually reclaim Ohtani in the bumps of Petco Park and become a two-way star known to dominate the baseball world.
