Signing a striker is a priority for some of the top Premier League clubs this summer.
Manchester United and Chelsea are both keen to add new attackers to their side, and one of the players they are chasing is Ipswich town striker Liam Dellup.
However, according to what Givemesport’s Fabrizio Romano reports, he is not the only player on both clubs’ radar this summer.
Reuben Amorim has struggled this season as his team lacks a deadly presence in front of goal.
Man United is desperate for the striker
Rasmus Hojlund hasn’t developed into the player United thought he would. His goalscoring record this season is a very disappointing experience.
The same goes for Chelsea, who is poor in terms of scoring against Nicholas Jackson, who hasn’t performed like Enzo Maresca.
Neither team is ready to delap the radar firmly and reshuffle the offense this summer.
Romano reports that while no decisions have been made on the attacker’s future so far, both United and Chelsea are interested in him, they are also looking at other options in the market.
He said:
“There’s no decision yet. But Man United is certainly in the race. Both clubs have multiple options for striker positions, from what I said.”
Liam Delap is available for bargain prices
After Ipswich is relegated to the championship, the attackers will be available for just £30 million this summer, so interest in Delap isn’t surprising.
The striker had a release clause in his contract, allowing him to transfer with bargain fees.
Delap scored 12 goals for Ipswich this season, but his goalscoring record, ability to hold the ball, fitness and pace impressed the big Premier League clubs.
