Ahead of the January transfer window, Rangers are reported to have begun contract talks to sign Galimzhan Kendzhebek from Kazakh side Elimay.
Danny Rolle is reportedly keen to make his mark at Ibrox, which could still see a number of new faces arrive. Sporting director Kevin Thelwell has already admitted during the international break that Rangers will be busy over the winter period, and there is no doubt there is a lot of work to do after a disastrous summer.
The former Everton manager also revealed that there could be further reinforcements behind the scenes at Glasgow, saying: “This is an exciting time because we’re starting to look at our organization from a sporting perspective, asking ourselves, ‘What does greatness look like?’ Where are we falling short of that standard and who can help us get to that standard?
Rangers star was reprimanded by Clement but now he could be their McTominay
Glasgow Rangers could discover their own Scott McTominay with the star once criticized by Philippe Clement.
“We’re talking about some new appointments and we’ve made some new appointments. We’re really pleased with the appointment of James Monte, particularly the guy from Dundee who previously worked with Huddle and probably his first appointment in that data area.”
“He’s going to give us a lot of insight, not only from a recruiting standpoint, but also in terms of analysis of our opponents, our own games, as well as data, whether it’s medicine, sports science or coaching.”
The organization behind the scenes will certainly help Rohr’s team on the pitch, but the Germans also need fresh faces. Names like David Watson have already been mentioned in that regard.
The Kilmarnock midfielder is one of Scotland’s best young players and Rangers are reportedly already in talks to sign him in the January transfer window. His arrival could also be the start of a winter that will be watched by everyone at Ibrox.
Rangers begin contract negotiations with Kendjebek
According to reports from Kazakhstan, published in the Glasgow Times, Rangers have begun negotiations to sign Kensebek from Yelimey in the January transfer window. The 22-year-old winger’s contract expires in early January, so Gers could swoop in and sign him on a free contract.
Kendjebek has only played outside his home country twice, but his 12 goals and six assists in 36 league games this season suggest he is ready to make his break in Scotland.
The prospect of signing for the Kazakhstan, who has been hailed by scout Kai Watson for his “quality” ball-running abilities, should excite Rangers fans. He’s not a finished product, but the potential is certainly there for everyone to see.
The fact that the Gers can beat Aberdeen and Celtic to sign him should also give them further incentive to make a deal in January.
