The Glasgow Rangers are looking for a permanent manager heading into the 2025/26 season.
With the 49ers Enterprises framed for completion, they become keen to secure a famous name to move the club forward.
Stephen Gerrard is a name linked to his return to Ibrox, but perhaps Marco Rose is GERS’ best option.
The Germans are one of their favorites to acquire the coveted role. If he moves to Glasgow, there will be at least four well-known players that the club and he will have to shift from the wage bill this summer.
A new start is needed throughout the park, starting with Jack Butland of the stick…

Jack Butland
Jack Butland
The British mistakes against Celtic in the Scotland Cup final last season were the catalyst for a poor season at Ibrox.
The 25,000-pound goalkeeper has made many mistakes throughout the season, admitting 48 goals and maintaining just 14 seats in 42 matches in all competitions.
Rose is looking to recruit people at peak, so he was able to cash out players in the summer.

James Tavernier
James Tavernier
The captain, who earns £300,000 a week, is currently heading into the final year of his contract with Ibrox.
It happens during the poor seasons of individual seasons where Tavernier saw that he only registered 17 target involvement.
Ibrox needs a new direction and with the British turning 34 in October, it’s time for the club to sell him and move on.

After yet another campaign that ends without a trophy, Tavernier’s influence has declined. That’s certainly true.

Kieran Dowell
Kieran Dowell
Michael Beale signed Dowell after his contract with Norwich City expired in the summer of 2023, but he only made 17 appearances at the club in Maiden Season.
It was revealed that he wasn’t at the level he needed to take Light Blues to the next level, and after 16 games this semester, the 16K pound midfielder joined Birmingham City on a loan agreement.
The 10-goal involvement in 22 matches proves that Dowell has discovered his level, and the Midlands side can see him sign the British permanently this summer.
This is a move that will surely sanction the Bala, allowing his funds to strengthen his team.
4
Ben Davis
Ben Davis
Davis is another player who spent time on loan with Birmingham City this season. After two rather overwhelming seasons at Ibrox, Philip Clement loaned him to League One last summer. A £27k week defender like Dowell appears to have found his level during his temporary stay.
The centre-back scored 70% of his duels in the third tier this season, averaging 6.2 clearances and 1.1 tackles per game.
Following their promotion, Bruce may want to keep Davis at the club forever. This is something the rangers have to look at the push.
He doesn’t look like a thriving player under Rose, and releasing his massive wages will certainly help the Germans during the transfer period.
