The Glasgow Rangers are reportedly “interested” in signing the Manchester City youth who made their next major career decision.
Rangers announce Megoma’s arrival
It was already an incredibly busy summer at Ibrox. With just under two weeks left until the transfer window closes, Russell Martin welcomed up to 11 fresh faces as he was about to change the Rangers’ side, which had a desperate need for the turnaround.
Jaden Megoma is the latest to arrive earlier this week when he put his pen on paper for a seasonal loan move from Premier League side Brentford. His arrival follows a trend in talent from British football, who decides to join Martin in Scotland this summer.
After putting the pen on paper, the 19-year-old left back told the Rangers’ official website: “I’m very excited to be here, it’s a great club and I know a lot about the rich history of Rangers.
“When the deal was presented to me, I quickly thought it would be a great opportunity for myself and my family. The main thing for me is getting results. The Rangers are a big club, I’m ready, I’m excited to move on with hungry.”
If he decides to leave in reports that the Brazilian has reached an agreement to join Palmeiras, Megoma should not be concerned about the time of the match at Ibrox, as it is likely that he will replace Jeffte.
When Martin is still trying to get the best from his side, the teenager has the ultimate opportunity to move on to Garth’s strongest team.
But he’s not the only Premier League young man to find himself on the Rangers radar this summer. The report now suggests that Rangers are “interested” in signing the Manchester City gem.
Ranger is “interested” in Callum Doyle.
According to Athletic’s Jordan Campbell, the Rangers are “interested” in signing Calm Doyle, but the Manchester City youth have already decided to join Wrexham via the Scottish Giants. The decision to join the championship side in a £8 million worth of deal has come down to the location, not the current form or stage of any project.
At 21, Doyle would have represented an impressive coup for the Rangers. The young centre-back is full of possibilities and won many praise during his final loan spell, leaving Etihad in Norwich City.
Shane Duffy, the youngster’s then defense partner, told reporters last season. “He has the world at his feet. He’s a really good player,” Duffy said. “First of all, I think he’s just a great guy, he’s a great guy and he just wants to learn.
“It’s not that I don’t enjoy playing with Jose (Cordoba) or Grant (Hanley), but I and Callum have this understanding. Callum probably understands British football a bit more than Jose. He’s still adapted and has a big future.
But as things stand, the rangers are set to miss the younger defenders and have to turn their attention to other options before the windows close.
