The goalkeeper may be the trickiest position on the football pitch, but in the Premier League there is no place to hide.
Whether you’re aiming for a title or hoping to keep happening to your teeth skin, the top goalkeeper can make all the difference at the end of the season.
This year again highlighted the best and worst between the sticks. Andre Onana’s recent calamity of Manchester United’s goals made headline news shortly after he got caught up in a feud with former Red Devils midfielder Nemanya Matic.

Matic had sent brutal excavations to Onana before the clash with Lyon in the Europa League at Man UTD.
But who is the worst keeper in the Premier League right now? This list took into consideration their level of performance and whether they met the required criteria for the current team.
1
David Raya
David Raya
Arsenal
While this may be a controversial cry, David Raya was undoubtedly one of Arsenal’s most consistent players in a season littered with choice issues.
The Spaniard has fully demonstrated Mikel Arteta’s decision to set him up in the Gunners No. 1 last season, continuing to shine in goal at Emirates Stadium, excelling at the top.
He not only proved an effective barrier behind him, but also produced some outstanding saves this semester.
2
MATZ SELS
MATZ SELS
Nottingham Forest
Mads Cels has been a joy for Nottingham Forest this season, representing his team’s role as a surprise package for the division by becoming one of the Reds’ most important players in pursuit of Champions League football.
At the time of writing, he is lined up to receive the Golden Globes, earning two cleaner seats (13) than Arsenal’s Raya (11).
Simply put, Forest has no other person in goal than the Belgians.

Allison
Allison
Liverpool
Liverpool has barely been apart this season, and only Arsenal admits that they have fewer than the Reds this season.
On the Arne Slot side, Caoimhin Kelleher’s stand-in was impressive, but there’s no doubt about the No. 1 Alisson class in goal.
Without the security provided by Brazilians, I imagine Liverpool wouldn’t be that comfortable on the top.

All goalkeepers scored in the Premier League
That doesn’t happen very often, but in the Premier League, I’ve seen a few goalkeepers on the scoresheet.

Emiliano Martinez
Emiliano Martinez
Aston Villa
As the current Jacin Trophy Holder, it is difficult to criticize Emimartinez too much. Like all his winding antics and dangerous dance, the Argentinians continue to be a useful lockdown in front of Aston Villagore.
Now, after an exploit in the international stage and the Champions League, Martinez has matured into one of the world’s top goalkeepers.
His Argentine link may help him win a big award, but it is difficult to discuss his position among his peers.

Jordan Pickford
Jordan Pickford
Everton
At the time of writing, the top flight goalkeeper was one of only three top flight goalkeepers, and it was a clean sheet double digits, but writing a season for Jordan Pickford in the middle of the campaign was easy.
That said, Pickford was shining for Everton, even before David Moet returned to Merseyside. His highlights include shutouts against Arsenal and Chelsea, but his position as an uncontroversial England needs to be counted.
He also kept Anthony Gordon and Erling Haaland out of penalty spots this semester.
6
Bernd Leno
Bernd Leno
Flam
It would be permissible to consider Bern Reno’s move from Arsenal to Fulham as a sign of a declining goalkeeper, but the Germans still play his role on the side of the cottages that qualify in Europe.
Reno is currently ranked 6th in the saves made this season at 89, and has won a Match Award Co-Official Award from Whoscored for three goalkeepers.
7
Kepa Arrizabalaga
Kepa Arrizabalaga
Bournemouth
Kepa Alizabaraga’s transfer on loan from Kelsey to Bournemouth looked mostly a masterstroke from Andoni Iraora.
Cherry was impressed this season and appeared to be a major candidate for European space before the form was down.
But when in form, Kepa is one of their more impressive players, and although he is still easily mistaken, he may have given a good world a chance for a career renaissance thanks to his time in vitality.
8
Ederson
Ederson
Man City
Manchester City hasn’t had a great year. In other words, Edason’s numbers were less impressive compared to the previous high standards he set.
The Brazilian still shows his class – especially his eyes on the pass, James McAtee’s recent assist reminds him of his talent.
And despite his dip in form (not aided by the constantly changing defense), you think most Premier League clubs are willing to have him as their No. 1.

Grinded stains
Grinded stains
Brentford
Mark Frecken was recently named the Premier League’s best goalkeeper by the CIES Football Observatory and ranked fifth in the world behind the likes of Gianluigi Donnarumma and Thibaut Courtois.
But we are opposed to that ranking with respect and opposition, making Robert Sanchez the second best in the Premier League and we have not yet reached him.
As for Flekken, he certainly proves to be a great alternative to Brentford Net’s David Raya.
Though not the ultimate feature of quality, he made the most saves this season, 132-27 than his closest rival.
10
Mads Hermansen
Mads Hermansen
Leicester
While Leicester City stares at the barrel of relegation, it won’t surprise you to find Mads Hermansen showing off his skills in his next term.
Dane was another of the most frequent shot stoppers on top flights, despite the fox facing more shots on target.
But after some great performances in front of leaky defenses, he will certainly catch someone’s eye.
11
Dean Henderson
Dean Henderson
Crystal Palace
Dean Henderson is by no means the best goalkeeper in the Premier League, but he finally found a home at Crystal Palace. He is finally thriving following the exit from Manchester United.
Henderson has told the relatively tough defense that acknowledged the 40th goal (as many as fourth-placed Newcastle) with the Eagles’ recent clean sheet run, driving the palace into table safety and the FA Cup semi-finals.
12
Nick Pope
Nick Pope
Newcastle
Nick Pope’s season has been affected by injuries, but he still proves to be a solid goalkeeper for Newcastle United.
The former Burnley shot stopper, who is now the winner of Wembley following the success of the Carabao Cup, has formed part of his impressive toon outfit that appears to be ready to secure Champions League football.
While perhaps exceeding his best, the Pope remains a goalkeeper who appears to be at Premier League home, but he feels the middle of the puck is right compared to his counterpart.
13
Bart Verbruggen
Bart Verbruggen
Brighton
Dutch goalkeeper Bert Welbruggen has finally beaten Brighton’s No. 1 No. 1 spot under Fabian Hazeler, but he may be flattering to deceive at the Amex.
Verbruggen certainly provides value in your Hurzeler setup. It is one of the most frequent goalkeeping passersby in the Premier League and ranks fifth at the time of writing.
But because of everything he adds to his offensive buildup, he’s oddly error prone to getting him, scoring four so far this season.
14
Guglielmo Vicar
Guglielmo Vicar
Tottenham
Guglielmo Vicario has struggled with injuries in his second season at Tottenham Hotspur, but is the club’s best goalkeeper, and winter arrival Antonin Kinski has so far suffered in tricky moments in the colours of the Spurs.
But as far as the rest of the league is concerned, he has something to do to climb the rankings. The Italian introduces his weakness from the horn from the horn and is bullied by the set pieces by the enemy.
But he has a decent highlight reel.
15
Alphonse Areola
Alphonse Areola
West Ham
West Ham United goalkeeper Alphonse Areola is no shame in the Premier League this season, but he has hardly lit up the league.
Another “keeper” who spent time from the first XI had limited time to prove he was one of the league’s best.
Still, the French only has three clean sheets in his name (19th best in the league), making two errors leading to goals.
16
Aaron Ramsdale
Aaron Ramsdale
Southampton
It’s safe to say that Aaron Ramsdale’s summer move to Southampton hasn’t been going exactly well, with plenty of goals shipped to the south coast.
Although they are never solely responsible for their relegation, Ramsdale endured a disastrous number of years, losing their position on the Arsenal team and making errors when they were given a chance towards the end of their time in North London.
However, he has recently saved two penalties in one game and is still one of two NO NO NO NO 1s on this list this season, so perhaps he deserves a role that can showcase his true strengths on a better team than Southampton.
17
Andre Onan
Andre Onan
Man Utd
Andre Onana is an impressive goalkeeper. His time in his time showed off his talent and in 2023 Nerazzurri helped the Champions League final.
However, when he moved to Manchester United, his game was littered with errors. These came to mind recently when the Cameroonians were negligent in both goals that were recognized by United in the quarterfinals of the Europa League with Lyon.
Onana rarely clad in United’s glory and is more error-prone than most people. Given Old Trafford’s standards and expectations, he must be heading towards the bottom edge of the scale.
It’s not surprising that Reuben Amorim was considering long-term changes, especially after dropping him for his recent match at Newcastle.

Josesa
Josesa
Wolves
Wolves are leaky at back this season, and one factor that contributes to this is simply that their goalkeepers aren’t making enough saves.
When available, Jose SA was rarely reliable in the wolf goal. This is because older gold is confronted with average average shots for targets, but still acknowledges more goals than anyone other than bottom 3 (136).
SA is also ranked low in terms of saves this season. Despite missing seven games this semester, he was ranked 17th at the time of writing.
Overall, it can be argued that the upgrade will be useful for future wolves.
19
Alijanet Murrick
Alijanet Murrick
Ipswich
Allijanet Murick somehow moved to Ipswichtown, despite the fact that he never seemed to survive on the Burnley side, with or without errors between the sticks.
Murick hasn’t changed his path precisely since playing for the tractor boys. Kosovan produced a league high five errors, leading to a goal, and ultimately lost his place before getting injured.
It is difficult to argue that Murrick will have a positive effect on this Ipswich side.
20
Robert Sanchez
Robert Sanchez
Chelsea
Simply put, poor players like Robert Sanchez aren’t Chelsea’s No 1. But that’s where the blues exist, despite spending cash on many goalkeepers in recent years.
Sanchez has as much error as they come, flaps on the cross, gives possessions, and is now the farthest from Petr Cech in its heyday.
The Spaniard is so bad that his own manager even resorted to publicly calling him, but this had no desired effect of improving his performance.
Also, Sanchez’s display, which created five errors that lead to goals this season, is rather disastrous in the term, and for a club aiming to qualify for the Champions League, this undoubtedly represents the biggest discrepancy of the top flight.
