Former Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has exposed a scammer who impersonated Australian cricketer Adam Zampa and asked for the phone numbers of several Indian cricketers.
The cricketer’s stardom has undoubtedly spread to people all over the world. Cricket is a widely loved sport and there have been several recorded incidents where fans have resorted to bizarre antics to get closer to cricket icons.
Ravichandran Ashwin, a former cricketer who also played IPL and international cricket for several years, is known to be in touch with several cricketers from all over the world and people have tried to trick him into gathering other fellow cricketers.

The Indian spinner found himself in a humorous situation again when another scammer impersonated Australian cricketer Adam Zampa and contacted him on WhatsApp. The man asked for the phone numbers of several cricket players.
Even the former cricketer shared a screenshot of the conversation on Instagram and captioned it as: “Fake Adam Zampa tries to attack.” Fans loved Ashwin’s witty reply and were impressed with the way he fooled the impersonator.
The man impersonating Adam Zampa asked for contact details of players such as Abhishek Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, Sanju Samson, Jitesh Sharma, Rinku Singh and Shivam Dube. Ashwin also agreed to send it right away.
He then asked for former CSK captain MS Dhoni’s number and turned him down. When she replies that she has a fake Zampa as well, Ashwin asks for her number instead.
In the previous incident, it was revealed that a man impersonating Devon Conway was sending messages to Ashwin.
This is not the first time Ashwin has been impersonated online, as he has revealed a previous incident in which a man impersonated his former Chennai Super Kings teammate Devon Conway.
“Hey buddy, how are you doing?” And I said, “I’ll keep in touch.” You are playing in the MLC. I’ll watch the game. ” After this, when Conway asked for Virat Kohli’s phone number, Ashwin immediately became suspicious.

Finally, Ravichandran Ashwin recently questioned his inclusion in India’s ODI squad against Australia and defended pacer Harshit Rana. He further added that no player should be attacked below the belt as personal attacks on players can cause distress not only to the player but also to the cricketer’s family.
Harshit Rana received equal support from Indian coach Gautam Gambhir. However, in the first match of the Australian tour, he was roughed up after being dismissed for just one run, and then went wicketless in the match as well.
“You can definitely criticize their skills, their style of cricket and the trade they are making. But it shouldn’t become personal. It might be funny once or twice, but it shouldn’t be an ongoing theme,” Ravichandran Ashwin said while clarifying his views on Harshit Rana.
