Real Madrid is reportedly lining up ahead of the line up ambitious transfers after Killian Mbappe’s performance was poor in the Champions League defeat to Arsenal.
The French International is fairly anonymous on both legs with the gunners in the Champions League quarterfinals, and the Los Blancos may need something different in their attack.
Mbappe joined Real last summer and has good numbers in his first season with the Bernabeu, with 32 goals and four assists in all competitions.
Still, there are probably some legitimate questions about how well Mbappe fits this Madrid side tactically, especially in a big game.
Have you seen Erling Haaland succeeding Kylian Mbappe?
It may seem like a rash, but Fichajes now combines Real Madrid with the ambitious moves of Manchester City striker Erling Haaland.
Los Blancos probably haven’t given up on Mbappe yet, but there’s probably room for Haaland to come in and give the team a new look front 3.
Mbappe and Vinicius don’t necessarily complement each other well, so perhaps Real is ready to use Haaland as the team’s central striker, moving Mbappe a lot to replace Vinicius.
Either way, I didn’t bother Arsenal much at Emirates Stadium or the Bernabeu, so something needs to be changed.
Mbappe could be the ideal strike partner for him, as better might work out if he’s not the central figure ahead of time.
Norwegian International is a very prolific performer for City, and has recently tied him down to a new long-term contract.
I imagine Haaland is not particularly likely to move anytime soon, but it will be interesting to see how this story develops in weeks and months, especially if Mbappe’s form doesn’t improve.
