Former Los Angeles right-handed pitcher Lewis Garcia has signed a major league contract with the Washington Nationals.

The designated Garcia for allocation at the end of June, and the Reliever was officially released by the team on July 4th.
As the defending champion of the season, Garcia won a 5.27 ERA with 24 strikeouts and 1.829 whips in 27.1 innings.
The final right-handed performance with the was not ideal as he allowed three runs to score with four hits against the Kansas City Royals. Garcia was unable to finish the innings and only recorded one.
The 38-year-old rejoined the with his right adductor after landing at IL on June 1, but was amputated shortly after his return.
Garcia has become the familiar face of the bullpen this season as many major saviors dealt with injuries in 2025.
Currently, the 13 major league season veteran begins the next chapter of his career on the East Coast. Garcia has an ERA of 4.20 with 523 strikeouts and a 1.437 whip.
