Sky Sports F1 presenter Ted Kravitz issued a harsh warning to Red Bull following Max Verstappen’s DNF at the Austrian Grand Prix.
Verstappen’s race at the Red Bull Ring ended on the opening lap after being crashed from the race by Mercedes’ Kimi Antoneri.
Antoneri misdetermined the brakes and removed both drivers from the race on lap 3.
Red Bull left the home race where Yuki Tsunoda had not scored points on the board as he endured Shockers.
Zonodas were wrapped twice and received a 10-second penalty for colliding with Franco Corpent.
After the race, Kravitz said without Verstappen the team would be left with “no one” who could handle challenging cars.
Kravitz has expressed long-term concerns about the Red Bull outlook without Verstappen.
“What happens when Max Verstappen is tied up from the race by Kimi Antonelli at the start? Well, it seems like they’re no one in the other cars.
“I think it’s the same as the rest of Red Bull, but no one can drive it. So it wasn’t Yuki Tsunoda’s fault, Liam Lawson’s fault, Sergio Perez’s fault, not Daniel Richard’s fault.
The future of Verstappen in the spotlight
Kravitz’s comments touch the hearts of considering the speculation surrounding Verstappen’s future.
Verstappen is linked with a potential switch to Mercedes.
George Russell revealed that a conversation is ongoing between Mercedes and Verstappencamp.
Verstappen claims he is happy with Red Bull, but it is understood that he has an exit clause in the contract.
Kravitz explained that Austria was worried about the future without the Verstappen of Red Bull.
“The only thing this car is set up and built is that it can drive alone,” Kravitz added.
“Well, I think that’s fine, if that one of them is the max Verstappen and he’s very good, he’s going to try and win four consecutive world championships in the four consecutive directions these cars are making.
“But if Max Verstappen isn’t driving your car, then he’s going out first or he’s not on the team, so it’s a lot to talk about, so what are you leaving behind?
