Aston Martin Formula One driver Lancestrol will undergo wrist surgery after missing the Spanish Grand Prix on Sunday.

Stroll finished 14th in Sunday’s race at the Barcelona Catalña Circuit, but will need to perform the procedure after experiencing complications from previous surgery.

The Canadian was treated after a broken wrist in a cycling accident the night before the 2023 Formula One season, and Aston Martin says the surgery is related to it.

Aston Martin issued a statement Saturday night. The walk confirmed that he would not take part in the Spanish Grand Prix and has experienced pain in his hands and wrists over the past six weeks.

“Over the past six weeks, Lance has experienced pain in his hands and wrists. His medical consultant believes it is related to the procedures he received in 2023,” a statement from the Aston Martin team read.

“As a result, his medical team will ensure he will not race tomorrow and he will undergo procedures to correct these issues before focusing on recovery.”

What happened in Stroll’s cycling accident?

The walk suffered from a broken wrist and a large right leg when I got off my bike while training in Spain in February 2023.

The injury prevented him from taking part in preseason tests that year, but he competed remarkably in Bahrain Grampuri, the season opener, just 12 days after installing a screw on his right wrist.

Teammate Fernando Alonso praised his “superficial” accomplishment, so he walked eighth and finished sixth.

Two years after his first injury, the walk is now forced to sit from the Grand Prix and take corrective action.

It is currently unclear whether the walk has recovered to take part in the home race at the Canadian Grand Prix on June 15th.
