Reinier de Ridder is busy with Anthony “Fluffy” Hernandez in the main event, which took place at UFC Vancouver on October 18th from the Rogers Center.
UFC CEO Dana White announced the pairing on Tuesday, with the charming Welterweight Matchup on the card as Kevin Holland faces Canada’s own Mike Malott. The two previously confirmed battles are also official, with Marlon “Chito” Bella facing Ayman Zahabi and Manon Fiorot facing Jasmine Jasdavichius at flyweight.
The main event comes together a day after De Ridder called for a title shot against new middleweight champion Khamzat Chimaev, following his dominant victory over Dricus du Plessis at UFC 319. DeRidder recently dispatched former middleweight champion Robert Whitaker in July, but is waiting for a potential title.
Former two-division champion De Ridder in one championship also has additional victories from Bo Nickal and Kevin Holland, 4-0 in the UFC campaign.
As for Hernandez, he returns to action after the victory in the statement that stated Roman Drizze, winning eight consecutive overalls. Hernandez also won recent victories over Brendan Allen and Michelle Pereira.
Meanwhile, the Netherlands are competing for the fifth time in 2025 after moving 2-2 in their first four matches of the year. The Netherlands recorded an impressive victory over Gunnar Nelson and Vicente Luk, but made a decision to Daniel Rodriguez at UFC 318 in July.
The Netherlands are about to return to their victory column when they faced Marotto, who won a back-to-back victory after experiencing their first loss in the UFC when they fell to Neil Manny in early 2024.
UFC Vancouver’s full fight card and match orders should still be decided.
