Arsenal is interested in signing Brazilian striker Igor Jesus from Botafogo at the end of the season.
According to Fichajes, they are keen to sign a 24-year-old striker with a release clause of 100 million euros. They also tried to sign a striker in January.
Providing a price can be a problem
It is unlikely that Arsenal would pay a player such a money. Also, botafogos must be reasonable to their requests to move.
Jesus was impressed in South America and proved to be Arsenal’s quality acquisition. He is highly regarded and has the physicality and technical attributes to get him going in the Premier League.
Arsenal needs Igor Jesus
It’s no secret that Arsenal needs a quality striker. Signing a striker should be a priority for Arsenal this summer, as Gabriel Jesus and Kai Herberts have not been able to score goals consistently. The lack of clinical finishers cost them a huge trophy. It remains to be seen whether they will be able to get a deal across the line.
It is fair to assume that if the opportunity presents itself, then it may be attracted to the idea that Jesus will be involved in Arsenal. It was a big step in his career and he can test himself alongside some of the top players in England. Regular football in the Premier League could help him improve even further.
The player is entering the peak year of his career and he will want to compete at the highest level. Arsenal is one of the largest clubs in the world, and they consistently compete for major trophies. That could be the ideal move for a 24-year-old striker.
It remains to be seen whether Botafogo is ready to sanction his departure. The players joined them in July 2024, but they may not want to lose a key player like him.
