Arsenal and Manchester United are reportedly one of the clubs offered Chelsea forward Christopher Nukank’s potential £305 million transfer.
France International has recently been registered on both Arsenal and Mann UTD radars, and is likely to become even more available now.
This is because Chelsea just secured another attack signature this summer with a £60 million move for Brighton’s Joan Pedro, according to the Metro.
They suggest that this will accelerate the Nukank exit from Stanford Bridge as Arsenal, United, Tottenham and Bayern Munich are mentioned as potential options.
Nkunku has struggled during his stay at Chelsea. That means that, according to the Metro, they were able to leave at a discounted rate of just £35 million.
Should the club gamble on Christopher Nukank’s transfer?
Nkunku felt great talent during his time at former club RB Leipzig, but he was undoubtedly floped in a spell in British football.
The 27-year-old may be reviving his career, but there’s no doubt that he’ll be a bit of a gamble after the recent struggle and the fact that he’s not getting younger.
One issue that has also been revealed in Chelsea is that it is not entirely clear what his best position is.
Nkunku began his career as a more winger and sometimes as a wingback, but he reinvented himself as a striker in Leipzig.
season | game | the goal |
RB Leipzig 2019/20 | 44 | 5 |
RB Leipzig 2020/21 | 40 | 7 |
RB Leipzig 2021/22 | 52 | 35 |
RB Leipzig 2022/23 | 36 | twenty three |
Chelsea 2023/24 | 14 | 3 |
Chelsea 2024/25 | 45 | 15 |
total | 241 | 88 |
But at Chelsea, he wasn’t really trusted with the role, but he also looked a bit out of place as an offensive midfielder.
Arsenal and Mann UTD need more attacking options
Arsenal and United probably can’t afford to be too noisy, but it appears that Nukank could at least become a decent team player for them.
Arsenal lacks the depth behind Buka Yosaka and Kaihabaats, and Nukank may be a wise signature to offer another option to his front three.
Meanwhile, United will need to make changes after a terrible season, and it’s easy to see that Nkunku is an upgrade to flops such as Marcus Rashford, Antony, Alejandro Garnacho, and Rasmus Hojlund.
