Aston Villa is considering a fresh move for Joao Felix, and Chelsea hopes to break up with AC Milan lender after just one season.
Naturally, Felix’s second stint at Stamford Bridge didn’t go well. The Portuguese forward was brought to Atletico Madrid for 52 million euros last summer. This is primarily part of a financial operation to encourage Connor Gallagher’s departure.
The 25-year-old has struggled to live up to expectations since leaving Benfica, and the January loan switch to AC Milan has not changed that. Aside from the promising Coppa Italia debut, Felix failed to impress in Italy, urging Milan to eliminate permanent deals.
“I received an offer from Arsenal, but came out of a strange meeting with Arsen Wenger.”
Now Chelsea wants to move Felix again, and Villa was able to step in to provide him with a fresh start. Unai Emery has been a long-awaited praiser of the forward and tried to sign him in the previous forward window. This summer he may finally have a chance.
The villa has already been doing business with Chelsea in the windows recently, bringing in Ian Matzen and Axel Disassi. They were also interested in Gallagher last summer. According to journalist Ben Jacobs, Emery remains keen on Felix and can take him to Birmingham.

Ideally, Chelsea would prefer to sell Felix entirely, but if they don’t have a permanent offer, they could be open to another loan. Felix’s wages are a fixture, and the club will also need to weigh the options between current Roney Marcus Rashford and Marco Asensio. Both were impressive.
PSG is reportedly willing to sell Asensio for around 15 million euros, but the Rashford purchase option is set at 48 million euros.
