Chelsea and Liverpool have expressed interest in signing Bayern Munich defender Kim Min-jae.
The 28-year-old has had a very good run with the German club, helping them win the league last season. He could be a useful signing for both Premier League clubs. According to Fichajes, Tottenham are also interested in Minje.
Chelsea and Liverpool need Kim Min-jae
Chelsea have had multiple injury problems at the back this season and need depth in that area of the pitch. The 28-year-old Korean could be a useful acquisition. He also demonstrated his ability in Italy and Germany. He knows what it takes to play for a big club and could make an immediate impact at Chelsea. He has the physical and technical attributes to work in Premier League football.
Meanwhile, Liverpool are also keen on the player. They need to replace Ibrahima Konate, who will be a free agent at the end of the season. It remains to be seen whether he wants the 28-year-old Bundesliga star as his replacement.
Will Bayern sell Min-jae?
The German club paid approximately 50 million euros to sign the defender. It will be interesting to see if they are willing to sell him for a reasonable amount. He is an important player for them, with Joshua Kimmich calling him an “outstanding” player in the past.
Chelsea and Liverpool need to tighten up at the back if they want to win big trophies. The 28-year-old could help them grow in that department. It remains to be seen whether either club will follow up the interest with a formal offer in the coming weeks.
The defender is at the peak of his career and will be aiming to make his mark in the Premier League. It will be interesting to see where he ends up.
