Chelsea and Manchester United are keen to sign African midfielder Abubakar Maiga at the end of the season.
The talented young African midfielder is attracting attention from Barcelona and Manchester City. The Spanish giants have partnered with Academie Africa Foot, and could have an advantage in the race signing the 16-year-old, according to TBR Football.
It will be interesting to see if Chelsea and Manchester United will move forward with offers to sign Maiga in the coming months.
The talented young African midfielder could be seduced to move into the Premier League. It is a big step in his career and he can test himself at a high level. He rarely started for them anytime soon, and was able to join the academy team.
Aboubacar Maiga was able to experience a big move
Chelsea and Manchester United have been doing well over the years to develop talented young players and have been able to play an important role in his development. They were able to use more quality and depth in the middle of the park, and the 16-year-old was able to develop into a key first team player for them in the future.
It’s not easy to beat Barcelona and Manchester City to his signature. Barcelona is one of the largest clubs in the world, and I am drawn to the idea of every player joining them. Plus, our partnership with Academie Africa Foot will certainly put them in the driver’s seat.
It remains to be seen whether or not the talented young midfielder will be able to land this summer. Barcelona has economic limitations and can’t spend much on established stars. They need to build sustainably, and signing talented young players is a priority for them.
It will be interesting to see where the 16 year old will ultimately go.
