Chelsea is interested in signing Aston Villa midfielder Morgan Rogers during the summer transfer.
According to a report by Fichajes, the 22-year-old’s speech starts at a figure of 90 million euros. Chelsea are interested in securing Rogers’ signature, but they aim to lower the asking price.
The report argues that Chelsea could consider including players as part of the deal. It remains to be seen whether Aston Villa is ready to sanction his departure.
Morgan Rogers is an elite talent
He was one of the best young players in the Premier League and was outstanding at the West Midlands Club last season. Rodgers scored 14 goals in all competitions and scored 15 assists along the way. He is likened to former England and Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney because of his style and physicality.
There is no doubt that he has the technical attributes to develop into a top-class player, and he could become a Chelsea asset. They need more creativity in the final third, and the 22-year-old helps open up the opposition’s defense with his creativity, link-up play, passing and goal-scoring ability.
Chelsea must pay Rogers’ premium
It’s fair to assume that Chelsea must pay him a premium. He is an elite talent with a bright future, and he could become a future star with the right guidance. Chelsea have been doing well to develop young players over the years, and they have been able to help him realize his potential.
The opportunity to join Chelsea may also be attractive to players. That’s a big step for him and he’ll be competing in the UEFA Champions League. Chelsea recently won the Conference League and Club World Cup. Rodgers would want to win a big trophy with them if he joins the club.
