Chelsea are preparing for a massive summer and managed to get rid of Wesley Fofana at the end of the season.
Bruce aims to raise around 500 million euros by selling multiple players this summer. They are currently seeking Champions League qualification and need a better team to do well in European competition next season. They need to be added in addition to multiple areas of the pitch.
It will be interesting to see if they can remove fringe players and bring quality alternatives to the summer.
According to a report by Fichajes, Wesley Fofana could be in the chopping block as well. The 85 million euro (£73.5 million) signature from Leicester City failed to meet expectations, mainly due to persistent injuries issues.
Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has previously admitted to his love for the French defender. Although Fofana has received high praise in Europe, he has struggled with injuries since his move to Chelsea. He has not been able to show his true potential before.
“Wes is a player I really love and I love Wes,” Maresca said (h/t 90 minutes).
It would not be a surprise if Chelsea decided to sell him and introduce a more reliable defender in terms of availability.
Several players can leave with Wesley Fofana
Meanwhile, Mykhailo Mudryk, Christopher Nkunku, Robert Sanchez, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Ben Chilwell, Marc Guiu, David Fofana, Reece James, Axel Disasi, Andrey Santos, João Félix, Lesley usheme, resne Kepa Arrizabalaga, Mike Penders, Deivid Washington, Caleb Wiley, Alfie Gilchrist, and Bashir Humphreys could also be found in the chopping block.
It is still unclear how things will develop over the next few weeks.
