Chelsea are looking to improve their defensive forces at the end of the season, identifying Valencia’s Christian Mosquera as a target.
The 20-year-old Spanish footballer has been doing very well for Valencia, and he has proven to be a quality long-term acquisition. He has signed a contract with the Spanish club until 2026, and he will soon enter the final 12 months of his deal. Chelsea wants to shoot him at a bargain. It is still unclear how things will develop over the next few weeks.
Valencia doesn’t want to lose players easily, so it’s still unclear whether he’ll try to negotiate a contract renewal with players. According to Fichajes, the defender is valued at around 25 million euros.
Christian Mosquera could make Chelsea moves flashy
Chelsea certainly has the financial muscles to pay the 20-year-old defender the asking price. If the right opportunity presents itself, he could be seduced to move into the Premier League. It was a big step in his career and he can test himself at a high level.
Chelsea are seeking Champions League qualification and they are one of the largest clubs in the world. The opportunity to participate in them is extremely exciting for any player. Regular British football could help a 20-year-old improve further and fulfill his potential.
Players have been linked to Liverpool in the past. Meanwhile, Arsenal has been scouting him for years.
Chelsea need a quality defender
Chelsea look vulnerable at the back this season and need to close defensively. Benoit Badiashile is linked to the exit, and Wesley Fofana suffers from injuries issues. Signing a quality central defender must be one of the priorities heading into the summer transfer window.
The 20-year-old La Liga Prodigy could prove to be the ideal long-term investment for them.
