Chelsea is reportedly among the club eager to a dive into the potential summer transfer window for informal Benfica striker Vangueri Spabrides.
Greek International has been on fire this season in the Portuguese League, establishing itself as an exciting talent and has attracted attention from the larger club.
Records show that Pavlidis is likely on the radar of Premier League duos Chelsea and Newcastle, as quoted and translated by sports witnesses, following a total of 24 goals and 10 assists in all competitions.
The report also mentions Barcelona and Atletico Madrid as Pavlidis’s suitors, but claims his release clause has reached 100 million euros.
Even if Pavlidis is very impressed, it will probably be difficult for a 26-year-old who hasn’t played in one of Europe’s Big Five Leagues yet to see the club strip so much of its money.
Chelsea should make a striker sign for Vangelis Publidis this summer.
We all know that Chelsea needs strikers as a priority this summer.
The Benfica frontman seems likely to be a clear upgrade to the inconsistent Nicholas Jackson, but paying something nearly 100 million euros seems like a risk.
Darwin Nunes previously looked like an exciting talent in his time at Benfica, but as we can see now, he didn’t look enough for a top Premier League team like Liverpool.
Pavlidis could have a similar struggle, so unless Benfica is ready to accept fees well below Pavlidis’s release clause, Chelsea is probably a good option to consider other options.
Liam Dellup, a talented young striker from Ipswichtown, has linked to CFCs such as Simon Phillips, and perhaps makes more sense for the West London giants.
Delap may not be as prolific as Pavlidis, but he is young and has already shown that he can really be a handful for Premier League defense.
