Chelsea and Manchester United are reportedly among the clubs who are interested in the exciting Dutch talent Keith Smitt.
The highly rated 19-year-old Az Alkmaar Midfielder is likely already being compared to Kevin de Bruyne and Frenkie de Jong after being impressed at the youth level.
Smit will probably cost around £20 million and could be a bargain in the future, with Daily Mail adding that Chelsea, Man UTD, Barcelona and Real Madrid are all enthusiastic.
The report also calls Crystal Palace an ambitious suitor for Sumit. Smitt could possibly be the ideal alternative to Selhurst Park’s England midfielder Adam Wharton.
Keith Smitt’s Transfer and How It Will Affect Adam Wharton
Either way, this sounds pretty promising to people like Chelsea and United.
TeamTalk is one of the outlets that recently reported on Wharton’s future and named Chelsea, United and Tottenham as potential suitors at 21.
For example, if Chelsea could sign Wharton, Smit could be the ideal alternative to the palace, but if you missed the blues, you could also resort to Smit as an alternative.
Similarly, the Red Devils need top young talent as a long-term option in that position, so fans will be pretty pleased with either Wharton or Smitt.
Smitt looks like he can get cheaper and have a similarly high ceiling, but if he chooses a palace-like movement first, it could be a smart stepping stone for him.
It would also be easier to rest when he learns that Oliver Glasner has brought a top-class successor for him in the middle of the park, making it even more realistic for Chelsea and United to sign Wharton.
