Reports from Spain say Chelsea are reportedly preparing an offer of 70 million euros for Barcelona defender Jules Cound.
French International was deeply tied to its move to Stamford Bridge before joining Barcelona in 2022, and has maintained its Chelsea target ever since.
Now, the London Club is once again looking at the 26-year-old as an important addition to the team.

Despite initially arriving at Barcelona as a central defender, Kounde flourished as one of the world’s top backs. His impressive performance is not noticed, and Chelsea wants to secure his signature in the windows for the upcoming summer.
According to Spanish outlet Fichejjes, the club is preparing to place a bid of 70 million euros to eventually bring the condo to London.
The Frenchman, also linked to Arsenal, is reportedly a “priority” target in the Chelsea hierarchy, and the club is looking to bolster the options for the first team under manager Enzo Maresca. Chelsea is expected to step up their efforts in the coming weeks as they try to finalise the deal.
Chelsea will return to Jules Kaunde for the transfer
Kounde’s potential move to Chelsea suggested that after his recent admission by Maresca, Reese James may be in the middle of the centre rather than in the right-back. Right-back was a standout performer in the right-back role when fitted, but Maresca considered him a midfielder and even shared his vision with the players.
“The day after I signed Chelsea, I sent a video of him (James) and told him I’ve seen him as a midfielder from day one,” Maresca told reporters in early March. “Before I met him, I sent him a clip that showed him he could play in the middle.
“When you see players, you have to use your imagination a bit. I’ve always imagined him as a midfielder. When he lends out at Wigan, I watched his game and then saw him score a great goal from 25 yards as a midfielder.
