Stefano Pioli’s era as Al-Nassr’s head coach may be exhausted, suggesting that his rocky relationship with Cristiano Ronaldo could be the final claw for ffin.
The Al-Nassr season wasn’t smooth. They cruised in the AFC Champions League quarterfinals and won Estegraal 3-0, but their domestic campaign wasn’t particularly impressive. Sitting third in the Saudi Arabian professional league, they are behind title contenders Al-Ittihad and Al-Hilal.
Since Ronaldo’s famous arrival in early 2023, success has been elusive. Despite boasting one of the greatest footballers of all time, Al-Nassr manages only two runner-up finishes and is struggling to hold another serious title challenge.

Last season, Al-Hilal fled with the league in an undefeated campaign, but their dip this year has not benefited the unexpected Al-Nassr.

According to Italian journalist Gianluiri Longari, Pioli’s position is becoming increasingly unstable. Reports suggest that he has lost the dressing room, including a building of frustration during the squad. Ronaldo is also included.
The tension was fully on display in a recent clash with Arcohold, who was visibly furious after Ronaldo was replaced.
With overwhelming results, the question remains whether Pioli will continue the season. Some reports show that Rome is already monitoring his situation. If he is fired by Al Nasr, he could be a major candidate to replace Italian capital Claudio Ranieri this summer.
For now, Pioli continues to take charge, but his days at Riyadh could be counted due to Ronaldo’s influence and growing team anxiety.
