Manchester United forward Joshua Zirkzee is reportedly back on Milan’s radar as a potential transfer target ahead of January.
The Dutch international is currently struggling for minutes at Manchester United, so it’s understandable that there is some doubt over his future at the moment.
There has been a lot of speculation about Zirksee, with him potentially leaving Old Trafford this winter in order to increase his first-team appearances and give him a chance to be selected for the Netherlands squad for next summer’s World Cup.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the latest candidate is AC Milan, who was previously turned down by the former Bologna player.
After a difficult period at Manchester United, what will Joshua Zirkzee do next?
Zirksee impressed during his time in Serie A, leading United to bring him to the Premier League, but things didn’t work out for him in English football.
While it might make sense for MUFC and Zirksee to go their separate ways, the Gazzetta report suggests that Milan won’t necessarily make the first move.
The Rossoneri manager has wanted to sign the 24-year-old for some time, but he may not be a top target after the Rossoneri manager previously rejected him.
It will depend on his acquisition status, but we imagine other clubs will also be in the race to sign him.
Joshua Zirkzee’s long list of transfer applicants
According to Fabrizio Romano’s YouTube channel, Zirksee also has interest from West Ham United, while Roma are also a team that Gazzetta dello Sport have been linked with in recent days.
Everton have also been mentioned by Football Insider, and the likes of Aston Villa and Brighton may also be worth keeping an eye on, as previously reported here in an exclusive Daily Briefing article.
Where do you think Zirkzee will go next? Or should United keep him to add depth to their squad? Let us know your opinion in the comments!
