Manchester United and Chelsea have been involved in several recent relocations, and they could soon be involved in another relocation.
The Premier League Giants have traded players such as the recent Mason Mount, Juan Mata and Nemai Namatic.
This summer, a Man United player could head to Chelsea after being contacted by Enzo Maresca’s side.
Chelsea are looking to bolster a wide range of offensive positions due to Jadon Sancho’s poor form and the uncertainty surrounding Mikailo Mudrick’s future, so they need a new winger at the club.
Man United winger linked to Chelsea’s moves
Alejandro Garnacho may be on his way out of Old Trafford this summer.
Argentina International, a regular under the manager of Reuben Amorim, has shown that he has struggled with consistency, having seen a glimpse into his potential.
Several top European clubs reportedly are monitoring his situation, with Chelsea emerging as an important candidate. Bruce previously linked to younger wingers during the winter transfer period, but had not submitted a formal offer at the time.
They were able to enter the transfer window again this summer, aiming to take Garnacho to Stamford Bridge, despite players claiming he is “happy” at United.
Journalist Nizar Kinsella has provided the BBC with the latest update on the situation:
“In a broad attacker position, Chelsea spoke to representatives of Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho and Dortmund’s Jamie Gittens in January.
“These moves could be related to whether Jadon Sancho will sign permanently or whether Mykhailo Mudryk can escape the interim ban that allegedly failed drug testing.”
From Alejandro Garnacho to Chelsea?
United may be tempted to win cash to Garnacho, as it represents the club’s pure profit, given the transfer fees are homemade players.
However, selling him directly to Premier League rival Chelsea could be a mistake.
United will be bolstering their biggest rivals by selling players with potential to become world class in the future.
From a Chelsea perspective, Garnacho was a promising signature for them, and under Maresca’s offensive philosophy he was able to take the game to the next level.
Along with Garnacho, Rasmus Hojlund could also be sold by United this summer.
