Liverpool and Chelsea are interested in signing Aston Villa attacking midfielder Morgan Rodgers.
The 23-year-old is highly regarded in England and is considered one of the best young players in the Premier League. He was outstanding for Aston Villa last season and has the potential to develop into a world-class player.
According to Fichajes, the transfer fee could be around 80 million euros (about 7 billion yen).
Morgan Rogers is a complete attacker.
Former Manchester United star Roy Keane calls him a “nightmare” for rivals because of his style of play.
The 23-year-old can play in multiple attacking roles and is an expert when it comes to creating chances for his teammates and finding the back of the goal. His ability to take on multiple roles and create chances for his teammates makes him a difficult player to deal with.
He can operate centrally and connect the midfield with attacks. Or he can play on the wing and play against defenders and beat them in one-on-one situations.
Liverpool and Chelsea could use Rodgers
No wonder Liverpool and Chelsea are interested in him. They could be more creative in the final third. Florian Wertz has not lived up to expectations so far and Alexis Mac Allister has also struggled this season. Liverpool need more cutting-edge technology in their midfield.
As for Chelsea, they rely too much on Cole Palmer for creativity in the final third. Adding Rodgers would be a smart move. The 23-year-old could change them in the future. Rodgers had eight goals and 10 assists in league play last season. His numbers could improve if he plays on a better team.
The opportunity to join some of the biggest clubs in the world will be very exciting for him. Liverpool and Chelsea could provide him with a platform to fight for big trophies. It will be interesting to see where he ends up.
