Liverpool and Manchester United will be interested in signing Nottingham Forest midfielder Elliot Anderson in the coming months.
The 22-year-old is a standout for Nottingham Forest, with multiple clubs monitoring his progress. He could prove to be a quality long-term acquisition for both clubs. Liverpool needs more control and defensive cover in the middle of the park, and Anderson is the ideal acquisition.
The opportunity to participate in the Premier League champions can be difficult to refuse for players. However, it would be difficult to convince Nottingham Forest. They showed earlier this summer that they wouldn’t be bullied by selling their major players.
It’s difficult to convince them to sell Anderson right away. Liverpool, on the other hand, isn’t just a club that’s keen on him. They will also face competition with Manchester United’s bitter rivals.
Elliot Anderson’s move will be difficult
Graeme Bailey revealed on TBR:
“However, it is said that Mori is not going to entertain his interest. With the arrival of Anji Post Ecoglu, they hope that he will become the cornerstone of his team in the future.”
Man United could use Anderson
Manchester United need more quality in the middle of the park. They have struggled to control the game this season, and people like Anderson have been able to make a huge difference. They tried to sign Carlos Valleva from Brighton during the summer transfer period, but the move didn’t work. Anderson’s movements seem to be very difficult too.
It will be interesting to see if the two clubs decide to test their luck with offers in the coming months. They have the resources to pay a player a substantial amount, but losing him would be a devastating blow to Nottingham’s forest. They are trying to build an ambitious team and cannot afford to sell key players.
