Liverpool are reportedly ready to launch an ‘offensive’ with a move for Bayern Munich winger Michael Oliseh to replace Mohamed Salah.
It hasn’t been the best start to the season for Salah, who played little in the previous season despite helping Liverpool win the Premier League.
The Egyptian international is not getting any younger and perhaps we are seeing him pass the peak of his powers.
According to Ficajes, Liverpool are planning to spend their post-Salah life targeting Bayern and France star Olise. Olise previously had a successful spell in the Premier League with Crystal Palace, and was also a big hit at the Allianz Arena.
Can Michael Oliseh replace Mohamed Salah?
Salah is a Liverpool legend and there will likely be no one who can replace the world-class achievements he has brought to the club.
Still, Oliseh was another very exciting talent with a similar style of play, cutting in with his left foot from the right flank to both score and set up goals.
The Frenchman looked like an exciting talent during his time at Palace, but he has only gotten better since joining Bayern, so it will be interesting to see him return to English football.
Liverpool’s attack is not going well this season.
Salah didn’t quite look into himself at the start of this season, following a number of changes to Arne Slott’s squad.
LFC spent heavily in the summer, signing new attacking players such as Alexander Isak, Florian Wirtz and Hugo Ekitike, but Darwin Nunez and Luis Diaz left the club.
Salah also appears to have been affected, and it remains to be seen whether further changes will actually improve the situation.
However, it is clear that Olise is a top player and one imagines Bayern may struggle to keep him for years to come.
