Bournemouth attacker Antoine Semenyo has been linked with a move away from the club in recent weeks.
The 25-year-old has attracted the attention of several clubs with his performances this season. He has contributed nine goals in seven league games and is undoubtedly one of the most in-form players in the league at the moment.
Antoine Semenyo’s release clause makes transfer easier
Liverpool are interested in the 25-year-old, with Football Insider reporting that his contract has a release clause, which would allow the Premier League champions to sign him for a fixed fee without negotiating with Bournemouth.
Pete O’Rourke on Football Insider explained: “It doesn’t change the release clause significantly, but clubs will recognize in this release clause that there are certain numbers that can be met to enable them to trigger the release clause and try to sign Antoine Semenyo rather than trying to negotiate something with Bournemouth.”
Can Liverpool sign Semenyo?
It will be interesting to see if Liverpool make a formal offer in the coming months. Semenyo would be a great addition for them. They haven’t been able to properly replace Luis Diaz. They missed his ball-carrying ability and talent in the final third. The African player could fill that void and be an upgrade to Kodi Gakpo.
The opportunity to join the Premier League champions could be an exciting one for Semenyo as well. He will be fighting for big trophies with them and playing alongside top-level players. Joining an elite club could allow him to further develop and realize his potential.
A move to Liverpool would not be easy, with multiple clubs showing interest in the attacker. It remains to be seen whether they can move quickly enough to complete the deal.
