Liverpool is interested in signing Italian defender Giovan Nileoni during the summer transfer period.
The 18-year-old is highly regarded throughout Europe and he is one of the best young Italian talents at the moment. According to a report via FCINTERNEWS, Liverpool is “really serious” about signing the defender, and it will be interesting to see if they can get the deal done.
Red requires defensive additions
Defensive units require more quality and depth. Signing a quality young defender can prove to be a wise decision. They will need to begin plans for the succession of Virgil van Dik, and Ibrahima Conate may also be on the way out of the club next summer.
It remains to be seen whether Liverpool will be able to sign the Italians in the coming weeks. The opportunity to join the Premier League champions can be extremely exciting for young defenders. Regular football in the Premier League could help him improve further.
Liverpool has done well in the past to care for young players, and they have been able to play an important role in his development. Liverpool looked vulnerable at back last season, and they were previously defensively disappointed against Community Shield Crystal Palace.
Giovanni Leoni makes a great addition
It is clearly a region that needs improvement. The 18-year-old defender has all the tools to develop into a top-class player and has managed to develop into a vital player in Liverpool.
With proper guidance he was able to develop into the club’s future star. It remains to be seen whether Liverpool will follow up on their interest with their official proposal to close the deal. Leoni will be a long-term investment for the Premier League champions. The younger defender could be seduced if Liverpool called in the coming weeks.
Leoni is also linked to Tottenham.
