Liverpool attacker Luis Diaz has linked his move away from the club at the end of the season, and Barcelona wants to sign him.
According to a report from the Spanish publication Mundo Deportivo, he has been identified as the main target for Spanish champions.
Barcelona wants a Liverpool star
The report claims that Barcelona was impressed with his performance in the Premier League, and his versatility is one of the main reasons they are considering his move.
The 28-year-old is of course the winger on the left, but he can also operate in the center. Therefore, Barcelona considers his profile invincible and it remains to be seen whether he will be able to make the deal.
Diaz is a key player for Liverpool, who scored 17 goals in all competitions and would not want to lose him anytime soon. Liverpool is expected to drive away Darwin Nunes in the summer, and they wouldn’t want to weaken their team any more.
Liverpool should keep Louis Dias
Liverpool has been overreliant on Mohamed Sarah and Diaz for their goals and creativity of this past season. The Colombians could be important players for them in the near future. It is still unknown how the situation will develop.
There were rumours that Liverpool could try to agree to a new deal with the players. If he refuses to sign an extension with them, they may consider selling him this summer.
It will be interesting to see what players will decide in the coming weeks. The opportunity to move to Spain is very appealing to South American players, and Diaz may feel he has proven himself in the Premier League.
