Manchester United are aiming to sign a midfielder next year after failing to sign one in this summer’s transfer window.
The Red Devils were linked with a move for Brighton’s Carlos Baleva, but his price tag and Brighton’s stance made it difficult for the Premier League giants to sign him.
Sporting’s Morten Hulmand is another midfielder being monitored by Ruben Amorim and his recruitment team.
AS Roma’s Manu Kone has also attracted the attention of those at Old Trafford.
Casemiro faces an uncertain future at the club and Koby Mainu is not in Amorim’s plans, making the signing of a new midfielder extremely important for the club.
Manchester United targeting Angelo Stiller next year?
Stuttgart midfielder Angelo Stiller, who was linked with a move to Man United in the summer, remains open to a future move, with the Red Devils now aware of his cost.
United are among a number of European clubs reportedly considering a move for Stiller.
According to Sky Deutschland, the 24-year-old Germany international could be signed in 2026 for around €50m (about £43.5m).
With Stiller’s performances continuing to improve at home and abroad, Stuttgart may soon face a battle to retain one of the Bundesliga’s brightest creative talents.
Red Devil is quoted at a reasonable price
The paper suggests that Stiller’s current contract includes a release clause of 40 million euros (about 3.4 billion yen), but Stuttgart have an unusual advantage and could effectively “buy out” that clause for 2 million euros (about 170 million yen).
That way, they will have full control over his future evaluation. This means they can set their own asking price, which will probably be close to 50 million euros or more depending on his development.
Stiller’s international prospects add another layer to his value. With the 2026 FIFA World Cup approaching, his market price could rise even higher if the midfielder establishes a starting role for Germany.
