Manchester United is reportedly ready to offer around 60 million euros for the potential relocation of Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Genluigi Donnaruma.
The Italian shot stopper has excelled in PSG this season, particularly in his Big Champions League match against Arsenal earlier this week.
Donnarumma made a series of big saves to deny the Gunners of Parc Des Princes and advanced to the Champions League final, where they face Inter Milan.
According to a surprise report from Fichajes, Man Utd is looking closely at Donnarumma as he is looking for an upgrade to Andre Onana.
While this will be an ambitious move, the report says the Red Devils could try to provide Donnaruma about 60 million euros.
PSG certainly won’t sell Gianluigi Donnarumma to Manchester United
It’s hard to imagine PSG leaving key players like Donnarumma. Luis Enrique has finally made great strides with this team.
The 26-year-old should be a key part of the club’s future plans, and it’s hard to imagine him being particularly seduced by United right now.
MUFC may be preparing for the Europa League final, but in this season’s Premier League, they’re sitting in 15th place at the table.
Man United urgently needs a new goalkeeper
Still, it’s easy to see why United sees people like Donnaruma. The club has been used to having a world-class keeper at Old Trafford for many years.
Peter Schmeichel and Edwin van der Sal are two legendary goalkeepers from United’s past, but even during the difficult post-seal Alex Ferguson era, they had David de Gere.
Onana simply doesn’t belong to that category, but people like Donnarumma are and can play an important role in helping this team get back where they want.
