Manchester United striker Joshua Zilky could have asked to leave the club in the near future.
The Dutch International struggles with regular match times and is unhappy with the current situation at the club. It will be interesting to see if Reuben Amorim is willing to provide him with ample opportunity between the present and January window.
If his situation didn’t improve, he could consider leaving the club in January. The Italian club is eager to secure his signature. Como and Juventus are keeping an eye on his situation and it will be interesting to see if they have decided to make a move for him.
Pete O’Rourke told Football Insider: “It depends a lot on what Jilkzee wants to do, and if he doesn’t play regularly under Amorim, he may push or think about moving, especially with the upcoming World Cup next summer.
“He has only made three appearances in the Premier League this season, but only one of them started and played a total of 82 minutes.
“He is not happy with the situation, but obviously Amorim spent heavily on the aid of Kuni, Sesco and Mbeumo in the summer.
“In Italy’s Zilkie, Como and Juventus are always keeping an eye on his situation, because of how well he did in Bologna before moving to Man United.
“If a player isn’t playing regularly between now and January, that’s a problem for him and he can push for leaving Man United.”
Zirkzee has not lived up to expectations since its travel from Bologna. He has shown quality in Italy in the past, and returning to his comfort zone might be ideal for him.
He is at the stage of his career where he needs to play regularly. If Manchester United can’t provide him with that opportunity, then ideally he should move on.
